REGISTERED NURSE (ANESTHETIST) JOB GROUP (CPSB 9,' V,/NO. KCPSB/ 17/2A21,/25 ( 2 POSITIONS)
Terms of Service: 3-year contract
Remuneration: As per SRC guidelines
Requirements for Appointment
i. Be a holder of a Diploma in any of the following disciplines; Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery from a recognized institution
ii. Be a holder of a Higher Diploma in Anesthesia from a recognized institution
iii. Possess a Registration Certificate from the Nursing Council of Kenya
iv. Possess a valid practicing nurse anesthetic license from the Nursing Council of Kenya
v. Have knowledge of Operating Theatre (O.T) procedures, standards and equipment
Duties and Responsibilities
i. Pre-Anesthetic Preparation and Evaluation of patients
ii. Provide intra-operative care to include: obtaining, preparing and using standard
equipment, monitors, supplies and drugs used for the administration of anesthesia and
sedation techniques, performing and ordering safety checks as needed.
iii. Administer general anesthesia and regional anesthesia
iv. Provide post Anesthetic Care to patients
v. Giving expert opinion on management of patients
