Requirements for Appointment
For appointment in this position a candidate must:
1. Be a Kenya Citizen;
2. Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health
Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya
Registered Nursing/Midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and
Psychiatry from a recognized institution;
3. Registered with the Nursing Counsel of Kenya;
4. Valid practicing license from nursing council of Kenya; and,
5. Certificate in computer application from a recognized institution.
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
1. Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patients’
outcomes;
2. Providing appropriate health care service including Integrated Management of
Childhood Illness (IMCI);
3. Immunization and reproductive health services;
4. Providing health education and counseling to patients/clients and community on
identified health needs;
5. Referring patients and clients appropriately;
6. Facilitating patient’s admission, assess patients’ needs for nursing services and
initiating nursing care plans;
7. Keep records and other supplies;
8. Guide, supervise and counsel staff performing routine clinical duties;
9. Collecting, compiling and analyzing data for decision making, planning and policy
making; and,
10.Implementation of community health strategy with other workers.
