Electricity Officer (6 Positions) - Job Grade 6 (Permanent And Pensionable) REF : 14 / 8 / 2023
Qualifications
1. A Bachelors degree in any of the following Engineering fields; Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
2. Graduate Membership of the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) in good standing;
3. Proficiency in Computer applications skills; and
4. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Responsibilities
1. Formulating and implementation of regulations for the supply and use of electrical energy;
2. Conducting technical, safety & environmental audits of power utilities and electrical installation sites and preparing reports;
3. Undertaking research on, and develop regulations and standards for the supply and use of electrical energy;
4. Undertaking follow up on ongoing projects to ensure implementation of recommendations;
5. Developing and monitoring compliance with standards and codes of equipment and electrical works for physical infrastructure;
6. Developing and implementing procedures for licensing of electricians, registration of electrical contractors, and monitoring their performance against established standards;
7. Providing technical input in the review of retail electricity tariffs;
8. Undertaking electrical accident investigations and submitting reports;
9. Reviewing electricity generation licenses;
10. Collecting, analysis, reporting and maintenance of power systems data;
11. Preparing position papers and briefs regulation compliance and inspection for the Director Electricity & Renewable Energy and EPRA management; and Developing and maintaining records of all installations
