QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirement for Appointment:-
i. Diploma in any of the following disciplines:- Optometry, Optometry Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
ii. Shown merit as reflected in work performance and results; and
iii. Proficiency in computer application skills.
Duties and Responsibilities: -
i. Implement patient treatment plan;
ii. Assess the refractive status of the eye;
iii. Glaze and fit spectacles;
iv. Capture patient’s bio data;
v. Take history of patients;
vi. Make general patient observations for diagnostic purposes and treatment;
vii. Obtain patient informed consent before offering any treatment;
viii. Follow up on patient’s treatment and progress;
ix. Collect optometry clinical data;
x. Collect information on ophthalmic/optical equipment and appliances;
xi. Take stock of inventory in the optical shop;
xii. Prepare briefs and monthly reports.
