QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Basic Salary Scale: Ksh. 39,700.00 - 52,960.00 (CPSB 09)
House Allowance: Ksh. 12,800 p.m
Commuter Allowance: Ksh. 5,000 p.m.
Other Allowances as Per the SRC Circulars
Terms of Service: Three (3) Years Contract (Renewable)
Requirements for Appointment: -
i. Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or Degree in social Sciences with a Post Graduate Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Mass Communication, Communication Studies, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
ii. Possess good oral and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili;
iii. Proficient in information communication technology including use of internet and intranet services; and
iv. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and Responsibilities: -
i. Gather information on programmes and significant events, edit stories on topical issues in a specific sectoral area;
ii. Develop public and media relations campaign strategies;
iii. Collaborate with internal teams and maintain open communication with the management;
iv. Edit and update promotional material and publications (brochures, videos, social media posts etc.);
v. Prepare and distribute press releases;
vi. Organize events and activities;
vii. Track media coverage and follow news and information trends;
viii. Prepare and submit monthly reports; and
ix. Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets.
