Our client, East African Tea Trade Association, is mandated to promote and facilitate the interests of stakeholders in the tea trade in Africa. by creating an enabling business environment geared towards maintaining global standards and delivering tea products to customers in the most profitable way. Our client is seeking to recruit a focused, experienced and highly- motivated individual who is looking for an opportunity for growth within a forward-thinking organization to fill the position specified below. The ideal candidate will have the privilege to work in an exciting and fast-paced environment where innovative strategies to streamline processes and improve efficiency will be required. This is a full-time job and the position will be based in Mombasa, Kenya.

Main purpose: The Managing Director will be responsible for providing strong leadership, strategic vision, and effective management of all aspects of the Association's operations. This role involves promoting and advancing the interests of the tea industry. fostering industry collaboration, and ensuring the sustainable growth of the association.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leadership and Strategy: • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of innovative strategies to enhance the effectiveness and profitability of the Association • Be responsible for the implementation and communication of the Board's strategies, decisions to stakeholders across the region • Provide guidance and direction to the Association's Board of directors and staff.
2. Industry Advocacy: • Advise the Board on professional and technical matters relating to the Tea industry • Drive the growth of the Association and identification of markets and opportunities for business expansion. • Build relationships with key stakeholders. including tea growers. exporters, importers, and government officials.
3. Membership Engagement: • Addressing the objectives of a diverse membership across the region • Foster strong relationships with association members.
• Promote membership growth and engagement through networking, events, and benefits.
5. Financial Management: • Ensure financial sustainability through effective resource allocation and revenue generation. • Oversee financial reporting, internal controls and compliance.
6. Operational Excellence & Human Resources Management • Provide guidance on performance standards and HR matters in consultation with the Board 8 Effectively and efficiently. manage the EATTA Mombasa Tea Auction in consultation and coordination with all the stakeholders. • Implement best practices in governance. administration, and management.
6. Industry Research and Education: Promote research and educational programs to advance industry knowledge and practices. Coordinate Research and Development activities of EATTA including data mining & analysis, development of new processes. guidelines and products
7. Collaboration and Networking Build strong relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies and business partners in the tea industry that benefit the association and its members Ensure effective communication amongst the members and between the trade and concerned stakeholders
8 Enhance the corporate communication strategy including creation and maintenance of the right public image of the Association

Qualifications & Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business, Agriculture, Economics)
Master's degree in Business Management or related filed.
At least ten (10) years working experience with at least five (5) years in Senior Management positions in a dynamic organizations.
Experience in Agri-business will be an added advantage.

Key Competences
Proven leadership experience, preferably in an association or industry-related role.
I Strong understanding of the tea trading industry, including market dynamics and regulatory frameworks.
I Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills Financial acumen and experience in budgetary management.
I Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. s Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
I Demonstrated commitment to the tea industry's sustainable development.
I Proven staff management and leadership capability.
